In 2008 we branched out from our long established Secret Spot store in the heart of Scarborough to the green rolling fields and stunning picturesque horse shoe bay of Cayton, two miles south of town.
Cayton bay has now become the base for all our surf lessons and offers consistent year round surf and a clean, safe and dog friendly beach that can be surfed through all tides stages of tide.

Cayton Bay Surf Shop has since grown rapidly and now offers an extensive range of both hire and demo equipment from the likes of NSP, TIKI, CORTEZ, SWELL and SURFTECH with a returnable hire charge if you purchase a board, allowing you to try before you buy. We also offer selected demo suits from O’neill and Ripcurl as well as all the usual surf related goods you would expect from a top end surf shop...

Our Hire Centre is based on the cliff above the waves and offers a wealth of amenities including £2 all day parking, beach access, surf forecasts, hot and cold drinks, toilets, changing rooms and free hot showers. We offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and pride ourselves on giving good sound advice whatever your level and surf lessons to suit all abilities.
Our most popular lesson is for the complete novice and you really don’t need any previous experience and we will aim to get you surfing in your first session!.

Back in Scarborough Secret Spot are also on hand if you are after cutting edge equipment and any surf related advice. Established in 1989 Scarborough’s first surf shop is still going strong and striving forward with the most progressive brands and products. Here we offer premium boards from Firewire, Al Merrick, Surftech, Seven’s and Tiki plus the very best wetsuit ranges including Xcel, Ripcurl and O’neill.
